Integrated Fibre Forms (2025)

Autodesk Research | Additive Tectonics

A hybrid ceiling element combining particle-bed 3D-printed formwork, robotically wound flax fibre reinforcement, and a cast geopolymer compression layer. The stay-in-place formwork eliminates demoulding and reduces construction waste. The wound flax fibre allows for automation. The cast geopolymer significantly reduces carbon footprint. Demonstrated at full scale through a 1:1, four-metre prototype.

I served as Project Lead, with technical contributions throughout, particularly in developing software tools for robotic fibre winding.
